George Bush Still Sucks

Editor's Note: This is a guest blog from Ben Virgin, our twitter enemy/best friend. We reached out in an effort to diversify our content and takes because diversification is pretty much always a good thing. Enjoy.

George Bush Still Sucks
Hello everyone.  My name is Ben, and the StockKitchen team approached me about writing a couple of short pieces for their blog.  I don’t have a cool kitchen nickname or anything, but I hope you enjoy my work.
It seems like everyone who touches the Trump presidency falls victim to a tragic, Shakespearean end.  That is, people willing to attach their names to Trump to further some personal agenda usually get what they want, but at the cost of their dignity and humanity.  The most recent example I can think of is former EPA chief Scott Pruitt: he may have gotten away with cartoonish corruption, but at the very least he has had to resign and his name will forever be synonymous with cartoonish corruption.  Former White House Comms Director Sean Spicer lied to the press for seven months before resigning. It is now rumoured that Spicey is developing his own tv show — a punishment suiting the crime.  He may get money and a platform, but he is doomed to further humiliate himself until he decides he has had enough of the spotlight.  Rudy Giuliani, also craving renewed relevance, recently became the President’s new lawyer, embarrassed the administration several times, and has since quietly disappeared.  The list goes on.
There is however, one public figure reaping ONLY benefits from the current political moment.  The first failson, George W. Bush. It is not a new or original idea to say that the Bush image is benefitting from the Trump Presidency, and in fact, this blog was inspired by the below tweet:

As a former President, Dubya is rich as shit and stands to gain everything from the bosses-first, white ethno-state, driven policies being passed under this administration by an equally corrupt congress.  But instead of this coming at a cost, Bush also gets the above mentioned historical advantage. Despite stealing the 2000 election, being responsible for the deaths of (literally) countless Iraqi citizens and U.S. soldiers, and just being an enormous dumbshit, Bush gets to be counted along with our “respectable” presidents because the GOP have placed a much larger embarrassment in the oval office.  I just pray that we as a nation don’t fall into this trap, and if we aren’t ready to admit that ALL our presidents have been bad, that at least we remember Georgie Boy for the asshat that he was.
